With more than 28 years of landscaping knowledge, Paul Pochmara is a vastly skilled, accomplished and self-motivated professional in the outdoor trade industry. His clients love him, his crews respect him and his reputation precedes him as a trustworthy guy to work with. Currently, Pochmara’s efforts are geared towards cultivating relationships by securing and managing accounts, overseeing operations and supporting contractors in the group as well as creating design plans for sustainable landscape areas.
Cheerfully serving in his personal time, Pochmara is a Den Leader for the Boy Scouts of America, a youth group assistant at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, a “Papa Owl” at his son’s elementary school and a basketball coach at the YMCA and Huron Valley Recreation.

Chief Marketing Officer & Customer Relations
As the Chief Marketing Officer, April Pochmara handles the marketing as well as the “business side of things” for Jake Ryan Landscape Group. Growing up, her mother and uncle ran a successful construction company, so she is no stranger to the contracting industry. She has always loved being involved in the trades, customer interaction and sharing in the pride of her crew’s finished works.
Pochmara is a highly skilled professional who has extensive knowledge in all aspects of the advertising business with a strong emphasis on nurturing client and creative partnerships as well as retaining and managing the relationships to execute the clients’ marketing strategies.
Currently representing Jake Ryan Landscape Group, LLC, The Rosh Group, Inc. and Cloud 9 Studios.
Graduated with honors from the University of Michigan with a Bachelors in Communications / PR and a Minor in Sociology. Involved professionally with groups such as: University of Michigan Alumni board of governors, dmaD (Direct Marketing Association of Detroit), Adcrafters (AAF Detroit), AMA (American Marketing Association) and MCC (Motor City Connect).
Dedicated to giving back to the community through volunteer efforts at Huron Valley Schools, Boy Scouts of America, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church as a catechist, Carl’s Family YMCA of Milford and with the Commerce Little League Baseball organization. Pochmara enjoys sport activities, outdoor adventures, camping, music, singing, playing guitar, writing lyrics, photography and spending time with her family.
MAJOR GENERAL PAUL A. POCHMARA
Senior Strategist and Consultant
Prior to joining the Jake Ryan Landscape team, he was a senior leader of military organizations performing duties such as building and managing teams, developing leadership programs, leading special studies and directing future missions. As a civilian, he was a customer claims auditor, in marketing management, a marketing representative for a major automotive company and a consultant and strategist for small businesses.
General Pochmara earned a Master of Arts Degree in Personnel from Central Michigan University, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Math from the University of Michigan, and respectable accreditations from master’s programs through the Air Command and Staff College and National Security Management. In addition to his education, he is a highly decorated, retired two-star general that was valued so much that the military named awards after him; the Major General Paul A. Pochmara Award (Air) and the 113th Civil Engineering Squadron DCARNG Maintenance Excellence
When not living the life of a semi-retired “snow bird” he can be found giving back to the communities he serves sitting on the Board of Directors for the Selfridge Air Base Museum and volunteering with Packs and Troops within the Boy Scouts of America. General Pochmara takes pleasure in helping them complete necessary requirements and raising funds for their popcorn and ham sales. He currently resides in Michigan and Florida, and enjoys spending time traveling, boating and imparting “philosophies” onto his grandsons.
